ABOUT
THE ARTISTS
EMILY C. SCHMIDT
Emily is a graphic designer with a BFA in design from
the School of Visual Arts. Like most of us at 3p2c,
Emily wanted to share her feelings on the Bush administration’s
unwarranted assault on Iraq. The loss of life on both
sides is staggering, but Emily felt she should focus
on the young U.S. soldiers who are giving their lives
away every day for a pointless war. A fictitious letter,
created by researching many true ones posted online,
from a U.S. army boy to his parents, formed the core
of 3p2c/Rogue Review’s postcard campaign. Collaborating
with 3p2c’s own Creative Director Andrew E. C.
Gaska, Emily was able to bring her concepts for this
and the other images in her FLAG series to life (one
a child’s rendition of what the new Iraqi flag
should be, and the other, entitled ‘GOD IS GREAT’
shows the cost of life to the US over the Iraqi flag).
Emily is available for freelance hire, just drop us
a line at thelist@3p2c.com
and we’ll let her know you’re interested
in her work.
ANDREW E.C. GASKA
An alumnus of the School of Visual Arts, and cofounder
of 3p2c, BLAM! COMICS, and ROGUE REVIEW, Drew has been
drawn more and more into politics ever since he found
himself glued to the television screen until 4am for
the 2000 Election (GORE has won, no BUSH has won, NO
WAIT GORE, NO WAIT…). When presented with the
concept of Emily Schmidt’s FLAG series, Drew saw
the opportunity to reach out to the public and share
not only his and Emily’s artistic visions of the
election year, but that of art students and other professionals
as well. In addition to being creative director of 3p2c,
Drew is a freelance graphic artist/character designer.
His other works, both written and artistic, can be seen
here monthly at www.3p2c.com.
